Warhammer Digital products are available in a number digital formats, across a number of settings. This page gives you a brief overview so you know what to expect from our eBooks and which ones are right for you.

The Horus Heresy

Games Workshop produces a range of mobile apps, including a news app, Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Blood Bowl gaming aid apps and an app for White Dwarf Magazine. Apps are available for iOS and Android tablets and mobile phones, and are downloadable from the App Store and Google Play store.

Fixed Layout ePub (also known as ePub 3)
These eBooks are designed to match the look and feel of physical books as closely as possible They are full colour, and laid out to match the pages of a physical volume. Some of these eBooks come in two formats, one optimised for tablet devices and one for mobile phones. They are the closest you'll get to having the physical book in your hands – but with convenience of using your phone and tablet! Please note that ePub3 files are not compatible with any Kindle devices.
These act more like traditional eBooks, with the text adjustable to suit your reading preferences. This makes them comfortable to read on any device, for the best experience – they're perfect for anyone who wants to focus on background and rules instead of art and photographs.
These eBooks are designed specifically for use with iPads, iPhones and Mac computers and do not work with any other devices. They often have additional interactive features, which will be detailed in the product description. Enhanced Editions are exclusively available from iBooks
Audio MP3s are downloadable versions audio content in MP3 format, which can be used by a wide range of devices and software.
These are digital images designed to adorn the home screen of your mobile devices and the desktop of your computer.
These allow you to pre-purchase a selection of eBooks. The subscription is provided as a zip file, which is updated whenever a new instalment is released.
Zip File Bundles
Zip files are often used for larger downloads, such as eBook bundles, as well as subscriptions. These need to be unpacked on a PC or Mac using suitable software and the files within (which will be ePub or ePub3 files) transferred onto your device of choice.
Any device that can download eReader software is capable of running at least some of our digital products. Some products are only available in specific formats that can be used on particular devices.
We recommend Apple iPads and iPhones for the widest compatibility. Many of our eBooks are also compatible with most Android devices and computers, though you may need to download additional software. Please note that Enhanced Editions are only compatible with Apple devices.
For Apple devices including iPhones, iPads and Mac computers, iBooks is the best software to use.
For Android, we recommend Kobo or Gitden. Both are compatible with ePub and ePub3 files.
For Windows phones, we recommend Kobo, which is compatible with ePub and Mobile editions.
For Windows tablets and PCs, we recommend Azardi or Kobo.
Please note that ePub3 files are not compatible with any Kindle devices.
Android and Windows devices
If you are using either an Android or Windows device we recommend you follow the below guide to upload your purchases onto your device.
1. We recommend that you download the Kobo book reader app from the play store as we find that this reader works well with our eBooks
2. Once you have downloaded kobo you will need to download the ePub /Tablet/Mobile version of your eBook from the “my download” section of your account.
3. When your eBook has successfully download you will need open up Kobo. And select Import File from the apps menu.
4. You should then see a list of folders. You will need to find the Downloads folder and open it
5. Once opened you should see a list of files that you have downloaded onto your device. You should now find the book you would like to add to the apps library and select it.
6. Once it has been selected all you need to do now in push the import button and wait your book to import
7. When imported your book should open automatically.
If you’re using an iOS device then adding your purchases to your device couldn’t be easier just follow the guide below.
1.Download the ePub/Tablet/Mobile/ePub3 version of your eBook from the “my download” section of your account using the Safari browser
2.Once your eBook finishes downloading (This may take some time depending on the size of the file and your internet connection) you should then see a pop up box asking you which app you would like to open your eBook with.
3.Select the iBooks option. Your eBook will then automatically be imported into iBooks and open up for you to read.
