Legiones Astartes: Age of Darkness Legions

The Horus Heresy

Legiones Astartes: Age of Darkness Legions

Your digital guide to 13 Space Marine Legions

In the Isstvan system, Horus began his Heresy. Eight Legions of Space Marines were drawn to his banner, and in a series of cataclysmic battles, they brought ruin to the Iron Hands, Salamanders and Raven Guard before spreading out into the galaxy and beginning to tear down the Imperium they once fought to build. Now you can recreate these mighty armies of legend, along with the Imperial Fists and Ultramarines, with new special rules, units and heroes – including the primarchs themselves.

It contains rules for all the special units for twelve Space Marine Legions, plus the greatest heroes (and villains) of the early stages of the Heresy. And, of course, the primarchs…

Amidst the shattered ruins of the Choral City and upon the Black Sands of the Urgall Depression, the first battles of the Horus Heresy were fought. Nearly a dozen Space Marine Legions fought and died, some in the Emperor's name and others under the banner of the turncoat Warmaster Horus, spreading out into the galaxy to bring ruin to all they once built… The Horus Heresy Legiones Astartes: Age of Darkness Legions collects together and updates the Space Marine Legions appendix entries from the first five of Forge World's Horus Heresy books. It is intended to be used alongside its companion book, The Horus Heresy: Legiones Astartes - Age of Darkness Army List.

Included in the book are:

– specific rules, units and special characters – including the mighty Primarchs – for 13 Space Marine Legions.
– Loyal Legions: Imperial Fists, Iron Hands, Raven Guard, Salamanders, Ultramarines.
– Traitor Legions: Alpha Legion, Death Guard, Emperor's Children, Iron Warriors, Night Lords, Sons of Horus, Word Bearers, World Eaters.

As well as collecting and updating rules from previous books, this volume also introduces a new Iron Warriors Legion unit, The ‘Iron Circle’ Domitar-Ferrum Class Battle-automata Maniple. An advanced and deadly class of Battle-automata, the Iron Circle were created to the Primarch Perturabo's own design.
